The 2024-2025 IAM3D® Discus Launched Glider competition tasks university students to use additive manufacturing and an iterative design process to create a hand-launched aerial vehicle. Participants are tasked with designing, testing, building, and flying a discus-launched glider. The competition focuses on creating a vehicle that can efficiently glide over various terrains and perform certain stunts, thereby highlighting the ability to achieve goals with minimal energy or moving parts.
